One thing that will change the way the USAF fights (With the Raider and NGAD) is the total sensor fusion. i know a whole heap has been written about this online in scattered places, but I will give a short concise example.

Airframe A, a test bed, was up over the ocean at 40,000 feet. All systems on and watching. In human terms, it would have taken analysts and IMIGINT specialists weeks to work through what was hoovered up. The AI in test took 11 seconds to sort, classify, identify and slew the best sensors onto the highest prioritise.

11 seconds. Thats it. that is all it took to lay radar on a cruisng sub, lidar onto a helicopter into clutter and the AESA snapped the next 30 'threats' loitering. With full ID for each.

We are going into an era where the human will be a battle manager more than a classic hands and throttles type - and it is glorious. 11 seconds.

Its vague enough to not get into trouble, but enough to show that if you are interested in the cutting edge as a career? Sensors is where its at. Thats where the voodoo happens.
