The idea of the F-117A being modified to serve as a UAV surrogate makes perfect sense, but is is actually being flown unmanned or is it merely controlled remotely but with a safety pilot onboard? NASA and Scaled Composites have both flown remotely piloted aircraft with an onboard safety pilot.
