The Scoot-N-Hide hangars are routinely used for a variety of purposes. They provide cover for test articles when imaging satellites are overhead. If a test article is airborne when a suspected observer is nearby or when a satellite overhead time is approaching, the airplane can be quickly landed and placed in the hangar. The Scoot-N-Hide also provides a secure workspace prior to flight or during post-flight servicing, or for weapons arm/de-arm procedures. Hangar 19 is also where the third YF-117A (Article 782) received its special "Stars and Stripes" paint job back in 1983.
