Planning a trip to Walter Ray Memorial and 928 Crash site

So wife and I are making arrangements for a trip to Las Vegas in October. I've read Mahoods excellent archive of the search for article 928 and I've followed just about all the stories I can find of the Walter Ray memorial build and visits. I'd like to figure out a way to visit both sites during our stay. It seems like the road from Moapa to the Cherokee mine is barely a road and likely not passable via rental SUV. But perhaps someone who has made the trip recently can confirm? I've seen YouTube videos of helicopter trips, is that a readily available tour?
