Now optical links are near perfect, it isnt a worry. And yes, LM have a clean sheet design.
Lockheed unmanned F35 was ready to go andecade ago. What stopped it eventually was software and data links.
Although Lockheed had their own DICE like programmes, the DoD baulked at not having totally control of a data link died or was jammed.
