Ok, focusing on the tail... the overall shape is identical to the original. The composite panel on the right side of the vertical stabilizer does not look like a patch after some body work. More like something stuck on top of the original skin. A sensor array or antenna? Why there? The trailing cable could be holding an instrument pack at its end as the article suggests or be an antenna or sensor on its own. That is about all I get from the photos, related to the tail.
