i also worked on the b2 back then and worked closely with several folks who spent a lot of time time there. my favorite story re "the ranch" was when one of the folks i worked with was returning to edwards from there and for some reason he had a gunny sack with several mojave green's in it in the back of his pickup truck. the edwards gate guard decided he needed to search the truck and when he got to the bag in the back my friend told him he might want to skip that bag... of course the guard ignored him and picked up the bag by the top above where it was tied shut and it came "alive".... the guard decided he didn't need to search that bag after all...
