I agree; in case of an inflight problem they would certalinly have fire trucks at the runway.
I remember a flight on a business trip many years ago when our plane had a blade come loose in flight and penetrate the casing of the engine. We made it to the airport, but the FD was lined up all along the runway.

But there was no indication of an emergency in the radio comms of Henry 68. Also, why was the Janet advised that the FD was not available to assist them?

I understand that occasionally a vehicle (possibly FD) drives the length of the runway to check for debris or small animals. But the same would have to be done for the landing Henry 68. They both used the same runway (in opposite directions).
