You're way off. It's already been well covered in the aviation press over the past several years. From the responses thus far, it seems like a lot of people may have missed that somehow. There are a lot of patches related to that program. If it's the one I'm thinking of, and I'm betting it is, the black-on-black patch is one of four variants of a particular unit emblem. (I have not yet seen your illustration, but I can tell you it is inaccurate). That unit has already been inactivated, and its assets and personnel activated under a different unit designation.
