My brother lives in the KC area. The old downtown KC airport has a facility that used to be owned by TWA that does a lot of maintenance, repairs, and scrapping of aircraft. As you mention, could likely be there for some work. I told him about it, in case he can take a ride over there and see if it's sitting around at the facility.
