It does look like a meteor trail, distorted by high-altitude winds. Also, just FYI, the "donuts on a rope" effect is typical contrail subsidence. It can be seen in contrails made by ordinary aircraft such as airliners. Living under several major commercial air corridors, I see it a lot.
