Yes, that statement was taken a bit out of context. George and I were talking about the radar sites just inside the perimeter near the Rachel "Back Gate" to Area 51. I was referring to the warning lights on those sites that can easily be seen from Rachel at night.

What many visitors to the back gate don't realize is that these are Russian radar sites. We "acquired" them in order to test our aircraft and tactics against actual enemy hardware. The enemy being not actually the Russians but countries using their hardware.
