Thanks Pete. Interesting consequence of the magnetic field shifting. If changes in the designation need to be made anyway I wonder if it would not make sense to switch to geographic north for the designations. In the days of GPS and computerized compasses that may be easier. Not sure how many aircraft systems still rely on magnetic north. But then, I am not an expert in these systems.
