Back in the late 80s, Northrop had a shuttle aircraft that flew routinely from LA (I think Long Beach) to Palmdale. As USAF types were not permitted to fly on it, but our Northrop counterparts used it. As I recall, it was a high wing, twin engine a/c, something like an Islander or Twin Otter.

I can remember a couple occasions when our counterparts commented the a/c was not available to take them to Palmdale because it off "supporting the other program." I always figured it was going to A51, but of course no one would say where it was. Anyone know if Northrop flew this aircraft to A51?
