The Whale (Tacit Blue) was a separate program from B2. It was designed to do battlefield surveillance, basically the mission eventually taken on by Joint Stars. There were some interesting things flying around in the desert at the time, but there was no B2 prototype that flew prior to the first flight in the summer of 1989.
