The PJs did a demonstration as part of the Nellis AFB airshow a few years back and I remember something about the Nellis range being the only active deployment of pararescue personnel stateside.

It's been a few years, but I remember them saying something along the lines of all other stateside PJs are reservists (such as the CA Air National Guard rescue units that fly out of Moffett Field in Silicon Valley) or not considered "deployed."

So, while not specifically assigned to Groom, it seems there are PJs assigned to the ranges in general... And Groom seems like a central place for them to park a chopper or two.
