Thanks everybody--I think I'm going to scuttle this part of the trip. Not knowing what's up with roads, and being out there alone with the danger of a flat tire/trapped car/unforeseen disaster etc., is a little much.
I think I'd need a sherpa to get to the top of Tikaboo Peak as it is right now. Thanks for all your help--and I'll update with information about cell phone coverage around Alamo/Rachel when I get back.
