My wife just got a Ford Escape two months ago. Yes, it would do real well. It's AWD not a 4x4 with high clearance, so I certainly wouldn't take it down the washed up road to Tikaboo Peak. I haven't been up to the Powerlines in a few years so I can't give any advice there -Sorry.

Steer clear of the Pick-Ups. I rented one and got stuck on the Nellis Fence line about a kilometer down. And I was on the gravel perimeter road! The wrecker that came for me charged $$$. Probably cost twice the rental! No joke unfortunately. If you search, I know for a fact you can find an actual 4X4 that can go anywhere your planning. It's Las Vegas for Pete's sake -You can rent a friggin' Bugatti if you got the cash!
