According to the LVRJ about 300 fleeing people running for their lives during the shooting broke the security airport fence on the western edge of McCarran which caused the airport to close both runways in front of the Janet terminal. As some of these people ended up at the Signature terminal north of the Janet terminal, others inside the Sands Corp. hangar just south of it. I wonder if some others used the Janet ramp or the famous parking lot as shelter as well. Don't remember if the gate to the Janet terminal's parking lot is open on Sunday nights with the gate house manned or if it is closed with the moveable fence.
