I was under the impression that the NKC-135B was part of the research on the Airbourne Laser Program.

What it's doing in Oman as part of Operation Enduring Freedom, remains to be seen. Maybe conducting tests with the USN and possably conducting research on intercepting Tomahawks, would be my guess. Mind you cruise missiles haven't been used since the early days of the conflict. In a operational enviroment best way to keep it a secret of it's operations!

The NKC-135B passed through RAF Mildenhall in Suffolk, England on it's way back to the States and Edwards AFB.
