Could be due to changes in FAA regulations in the new year. You are correct, the sqawk code changes along with the call sign when the Janets are handed off to Groom approach (from memory I think the Groom squawk is something like 0331). Years ago I ran an SBS-1 ADS-B decoder for a while. The Janets show up, but do not broadcast track data. Many commercial airliners don't either, or did not used to at the time. There was talk about regulations to require all aircraft to broadcast that information. Maybe it is finally being implemented.
