It was a pretty standard readiness exercise. Load the SSBN with inert RVs, go to a "patrol area" and wait for a launch order. In the past 10 years DoD has used these opportunities to conduct flight tests using the inert RVs, such as the Life Extension Test Bed flights that demonstrated a GPS guidance and control "backpack" that drastically improves accuracy. A second readiness launch happened today during daylight.
