It’s true what you say about the Mosquito having very little metal in it. In fact, all models of the ‘Mossie’ were made primarily out of balsa and plywood, with metal only used in key structural areas, the engines, guns and mounts and the canopy. Not only was it very stealthy for the day, but it was also very light and therefore very fast.
