I had the luck to meet a former technician who worked on the Migs both at Groome but primarily at TTR. He was recruited from a 'Normal' maintenance job in a TAC Wing with the Offer " Would you like to work on something we can't tell you about, in a location that is so remote we can't tell you about it, and if you decide to do this, you can't tell anyone about it" He told me "Hell, how could I say NO!" He also shared he was single at the time! He retired while still working there and was immediately hired as a "Contractor" to do the very same job but at much higher pay! Lived in Vegas his last 8 years on the job and flew Janet Air back and forth. Was an Honor to thank him for his service and tell him Thanks for winning the Cold War!
