Yes there is a system of work nets......Called the "intranet"(as opposed to the "internet")......To illustrate, at Compaq we had the company website (don't recall the web name at the moment). We got all company news and even world news.........We also had an company email....and of course work programs(repair documentation and component tracking)..I would suspect that a very talented group of personnel the fly in and out every day would expect and receive a very sophisticated setup....
Do the engineers/programmers/analyst/etc have access to prime and sub contractor's data banks is reasonable but one can only speculate......
