Well, I think one has to look at what a book wants to be. It certainly is not the ultimate Area 51 reference. But I give the author credit for sticking with the facts and completely staying away from the UFO stuff. The book does a nice job explaining the secrecy and developments at Area 51 in the context of the Cold War. Many people don't even understand that connection any more.
The format will appeal particularly to the younger generation, and I hope it will help do away with some misconceptions and conspiracy theories.
