The A-12, YF-12A, and M-21 were built in Burbank and then delivered to Area 51 for final assembly and testing. The YF-12A was later operated from Edwards. All three were flown to Palmdale for storage. The SR-71 was built in Burbank and then delivered to Palmdale for final assembly and testing. The SR-71 was also operated from Edwards during the test phase. No Blackbird ever operated from Burbank. One SR-71 made a nice flyby at Burbank in 1990.
