This only reinforces my suspicion that the government deliberately chooses not to put a barrier right at the boundary. It would be a ridiculously easy thing to do and would stop most inadvertent border violations. Why there's no barrier, I don't know. Maybe it's to give the cammos something to do and keep them from getting complacent.
