I'd definitely make a trip over to Space Center Houston. Mostly space related but you do have to go through the air to get to space. :) One of the shuttle 747 carriers is being assembled there now for an outdoor exhibit.

If you have time to get down the road a bit you could go to Galveston and hit the Lone Star Flight Museum. It's certainly worth it.
