Let's not be hasty. Not that it's impossible to imagine the deployment of a munition or expendable despite knowing that its use will visit long term health consequences on friend and foe alike (Agent Orange? Depleted uranium?), but you get that we're not talking about asbestos here, right? Not everything that's asbestos-sized causes the problems asbestos does.

And it's a very promising idea, for several applications: chaff for one, and a version of chaff that can kill the electricity grid by shorting out substations. I remember there was talk of using this stuff in certain Middle Eastern countries during the 80s & 90s.
