The Comet would have been the first successful jet transport had the square-window crack-propagation issue had been prevented and if the Lightning been made in the U.S. it would have had a great impact on the Cold War. Although not British, the Canadian TSR-1 was waaaaaay ahead of its time. In other areas most notable American TV are rip-offs or derivative of BBC programming.
