Stealth-Augmented F-15 tested at Groom?

AvWeek had an interesting short article that was sparked by previously-unknown test article showing up at AMARC in Tucson: an F-18 with fuselage redesigned for stealth, with blended CFTs, serrated edges, etc.

The article included a quote from a retired McDonnell Douglas exec that they had similarly modified an F-15 and test-flown it back in the late 80s or early 90s, to see how stealthy the F-15 airframe could be made, in case funding wasn't approved for the YF-22/YF-23. As he recalled, the augmented F-15's RCS was very, very good, about the same as the YF-22.

Anyone else know anything about this F-15 test?
