Those are Noctilucent Clouds they are very high up and often caused by rocket exhaust or something flying extremely high but they do occur naturally also. You were lucky to see them as they are pretty rare you have to look toward the area where the sun is setting looks like you were. Given your location these could well be man made. Their appearance in our skies have increased over the last decade or so.
