Yeager recreates historic sound barrier moment
NELLIS AIR FORCE BASE, Nev. –

Retired Air Force Brig. Gen. Charles E Yeager will break the sound barrier 65 years after the first historic event Oct. 14 near Edwards AFB, Calif. The flight will be followed by a 15 minute interview period.

Flying on an F-15 Eagle belonging to the 65th Aggressor Squadron, Yeager is expected to break the sound barrier at the same time his experimental Bell X-1 made the feat in 1947: at 10:24 a.m.

Yeager will also speak to the Airmen at Nellis AFB at 3 p.m. at the Thunderbirds hangar.
