It's a running track. It's about 14' wide. It is about .7 miles long. That makes the outer loop around 1.5 miles. That is the standard distnace for a USAF fitness test.

Compare this track to the one at Nellis AFB, NV at 36°15'22.80"N 114°58'27.67"W.

i have personally been on the track at Nellis. There is no doubt it is a fitness track. None.

I don't put much credence into the trip report. If there were any "awesome defensive weapons" there, it is highly unlikely that anyone associated with the base, be they contractor, militray or DoD civilian, would share such information with people who had been detained. That's a sure way to find yourself in the unemployment line.

The trip report, although entertaining, is a combination of fiction and non-fiction. The writer is obviously gifted. He has spun a great yarn. But, to believe anything other than that they were detained is folly.
