AIR FORCE FLIES LIVE FIREPOWER DEMONSTRATION

NELLIS AIR FORCE BASE, Nev. - The U.S. Air Force will conduct a 45-minute live firepower demonstration on the Nevada Test and Training Range near Indian Springs, Nev., from 12:45 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. Friday. Some people in the Las Vegas valley or near Indian Springs, Nev., may hear noise, as several hundred live munitions will be dropped on range targets from various military aircraft. There is no danger to the public.

The Air Force hold firepower demonstrations four times yearly. The demonstrations
are conducted in support of the Joint Chiefs of Staff CAPSTONE program. Conducted by the National Defense University, the CAPSTONE program ensures senior leaders understand the fundamentals of joint warfare and how to integrate various elements of national power into national military strategies.

The live firepower demonstrations show how the Air Force supports joint and multinational operations. The next Air Force firepower demonstration is scheduled for April 26.
Community members with questions about the firepower demonstrations should call the Nellis Air Force Base Public Affairs Office at (702) 652-2750 between 7:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. weekdays.
