"Hi FvS,
From what I can see from your coordinates on google map you were on the 41 RD...
Did you notice gates and warning signs near by ?
I assume that the reservoir is likely for cattle , it would be hard to imagine it being drinking water for us. I think that I noticed one towards one of the farms..but it was covered over and created from bricks in a circular shape."

Reservoir is/was for cattle, it was totally dry.

Yes, the Bombing Range 61/Wilson Gate is south of there (37°17'19.37"N, 115°26'34.59"W), see my pics here of the gate I visited the same day:

"I wanted to check out this flat spot on a hill close to Tikaboo, that I found on GE:
3720'6.76"N, 11523'29.25"W

This point is about 2.3 miles from Tikaboo Peak, along a ridge line. The line I was looking at runs up a valley, which is probably steep at the end.

I appreciate the input. I've done my share of mountaineering. Steep pitches and loose rock is manageable. Mostly I wonder about restricted areas."

Restricted areas - well, if you haven't already, then download this GE plugin that shows the boundaries:
Maps & GPS/Outline of the NTTR Range Boundaries - by Jeff Gregos. As far as I know, north of the border at about 37°17'19.37"N there are no restricted areas.

That flat spot has intrigued me for a while. It is on BLM land as far as I can tell. There are no roads or trails to/from it that I can see. So helicopter access only? And look here - 37°20'6.08"N, 115°23'27.88"W. Storage tanks? Radomes? And from what I can see messing around in GE, there is a peak to the west such that you can see it looking from where I was to the east. Also, it seems to be blocked from Tikaboo as well.

I, unfortunately, am 50 years old and in no shape to be mountaineering. Especially as I broke a hip last year due to osteoporisis. Frankly, I was nutso to be exploring there alone in the first place :)
