A visit in the spring or fall perhaps would be better...I say that, as these seasons are very short(IIRC)....Winters can get cold in Nevada, (believe it or not) and summers are like a very hot 'oven'........
An old joke was it's 110º in the shade, but there ain't no shade........
So any time you climb (or hike) in the desert) take lots of water, good hiking boots, GPS, I'd carry a cell phone or satellite phone.....first aid kit....etc.....
A number of these guys have been up the peak and know what to take........
