explosive silicon chips (off topic but has spook possibilities)

UC San Diego stumbled upon a way to make silicon chips blow up. This could come in handy to make items that self destruct or destruct on command should they fall into enemy hands.

Let's say some inquisitive investigator swipes the traffic counter on GL Road. Well, the operation near Groom Lake could tell it to go poof!

It would have been nice to fry the electronics on the surveillance plane China hijacked.
