Hi WJ,

Not sure of the exact purpose of Bald Mountain Satelitte site...I found a thread and some information that refers to it has having Radar station which I assume is mainly for surveillance.

The thread below even suggests that it could have high laser microphone technology that can listen in to conversations of motorist on HW 375.

I don't think that anyone permanently resides their...
It is remote controlled.

I was looking at google maps and zooming in using terrain..there are some roads/ tracks that pass nearby , but I am not sure if there is a route that takes anyone to the peaks which are upto 9380 ft..

I am curious just how far one can go legally via some of the /Roads/tracks...There are from various directions...some from 375 highway, and some from Rachel side.

This article suggests that when required staff are taken up by helicoptor.

The types of radar at these sites is unknown, although they may be the ARSR-4 Air Route Surveillance Radar which is used by the Air Force and FAA Joint Surveillance System throughout the United States. Another series of radars of a different type are located on a ridge at 4,300' just to the north of Groom Lake at
