I have seen it listed as "Nellis Auxiliary Field No. 1," but due to the nature of the terrain, I'm not sure it was ever really intended for landing on. The nearby lakebed is a much better landing surface, The "airfield" may have simply served as a compass rose of sorts, with the recommended operating directions for pilots using the lakebed or it may have been a gunnery target.
