It is true that a pilot from Nellis landed an F-105 at Groom. There had been a previous instance where a pilot declared an emergency and landed there. This pilot thought it would fun to do the same, but he didn't just get off with a chewing out as the previous one did. CIA security kept him for several days for debriefing, but the kicker was that we wouldn't return the plane to Nellis for several weeks. It stopped the emergency landings.
