We may have covered this before, but which aircraft is generally stealthier from the point of view of penetrating heavily defended airspace: the older F-117 design (optimized for penetration raids) or the newer F/A-22A Raptor (optimized for A2A). Is there a single answer?

With JDAM, can the F/A-22A generally replicate the F-117s penetration strike mission, if USAF HQ could end its obsession with A2A? On a related question, how much would you bet that there will never be another human ace?
