About the water runoff on the lake, in 1969 we had some heavy rainfall late in the year. The wind was persistently from the south at that time of year. After a few days the water left and the lakebed dried up. About six weeks later we experienced our first norther of the fall. We woke up to about a foot of water on our side of the lake. The southerly wind had kept the water on the north side of the lake all that time. Yes, water can be a problem. Fortunately, it doesn't rain all that often enough to matter. The water doesn't soak in, so it has to evaporate. The photo is of our famous cook, Murphy Green. Murph ran his messhall like the Soup Nazi on the Seinfeld show. He had his rules and EVERYONE had to follow them of get the hell out of his kitchen. Everyone remembers Murphy Green.
