Negative on the mine. The only mine in the area was the one across the lakebed and up in the hills. It overlooked the lakebed. There were no tunnels whatsoever when I was there. I really don't know of any use they would have for tunnels since it is all about flying. Having said that - there are other sites where training other than flying takes place from time to time for such as Green Flag and they might need special accommodations for that. I don't personally know of any tunnel anywhere other than the old NERVA test stand where we worked beneath the reactor for safety reasons. When I mention other training, these would be transient events where fresh "troops" (generic intent) receive multi-service training just like Red Flag participants. Few of these training
facilities would be manned full time.
