Gary, BTW "Black Hawk Down" is a must-see. It shows the D-boys in a rather good light.
The newer IR LASER designators are frequency specific, so any LASAR or IR LASAR will not work, only the designator with the correct frequency. Just like Russian and NATO IR uses different Freqs (so using an Russian IR illuminator won't work well with an American NVG/NOG). Green Berets and D-boys on hoseback with high-tech weaponry is rather iconoclastic, but it sure did work.
