It is an honour we all share to have TD Barnes contibuting to this magnificent site and giving us an insight into life at the Area. I often spend time imagining what it is like there perhaps as an electronics engineer or simply an admistrator. My veiw is life is pretty normal in that you get on with your work, have your lunch, talk about sport, politics, a great deal you got on car insurance etc.

No doubt the base commander has to focus on moral, motivation and the team ethic as much as anything else. I wonder if they have baseball teams named Skunks and Phantoms who compete for the Secret World Series?

No surprise that assets don't fly that much given the testing technology that now exists. Either way they are unique people with amazing skills. I hope to save the money for a trip out there one day and as you all point out the beauty of the high desert is enough on its own, see you there one day.
