In the recent past a very large cache Blackbird spares was scrapped. Everything from canopies, canopy glass, wheel and tire assemblies, CSDs, instruments, you name it. Many expressed interest in purchasing items but all items were required to be cut up, crushed and sold for pure scrap value. At 1,000,000 for a rudder assembly it looks like the government could have done much better than scrap value.. NO?
