Vince, if you want "the book" on the U-2, Chris Pocock's 50 Years of the U-2 is the absolute bible on the U-2 program. He is in the UK, but he is recognized by the entire U-2 community, Air Force, and CIA as being the authority on the U-2. It is a bit expensive, but worth it if one wants the full story. Go to the author's page on my http://area51specialprojects.com website and you will find listing of various books and links to learn more or in some cases where to purchase them. If you are just interested in the CIA U-2 program at Groom, North Base, Laughlin (they hid among the Air Force), and overseas, go to the CIA website and you can download a free monograph title The CIA and the U-2 Program, 1954 - 1974. The version I have does have some information redacted, but they may have removed the censoring by now.
