I don't know. It could have certainly been #792 as the F-117A was still highly classified and wasn't acknowledged until November '88. That would explain a lot of the USAF's unwillingness to reveal what the aircraft was and why they released so little info to the press at the time. Makes sense, sure. But at the risk of sounding like a true conspiracy theorist, which I'm really not, I'd need more info to rule out that it wasn't something else. I very rarely take anything at face value when it comes to this sort of stuff. After a quick search it looks like Peter Merlin accompanied a couple members of the Mulhare family to the crash site near Bakersfield for the 20th anniversary of the incident. Can you confirm this, Peter?
